BEWARE OF HAIR STRAIGHTENING DANGER

HAIR STRAIGHTENING: BEWARE OF DANGER

This is important information from online fashion store and should be taken very seriously. Following numerous alerts from European and American health authorities,  a survey was carried out among hairdressing professionals and sellers of straightening hair products by the Afssaps (French Agency for Sanitary Safety of Health Products) and the DGCCRF (Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Prevention). The results of this survey are very worrying.
In France, 8 hair straightening products have been shown to contain formaldehyde – a carcinogenic substance in the nasopharynx via the respiratory tract in humans - at concentrations between 0.61% and 5.87% therefore, above the regulatory limit ( which is 0.2%).  The products in question have been withdrawn from the market . You can consult the complete list here , country by country.

The names of these products may not tell you anything. However, be vigilant, ask your hairdresser, avoid buying homemade kits on the Net and, glean as much information as possible on the nature of the components used. Afssaps recommends that you neither buy nor use the prohibited products and that you consult a doctor in the event of clinical manifestations such as eye, respiratory or skin irritations, allergic reactions, etc. during or following hair straightening. .

We are entitled to wonder if other hair straightening products as dangerous are still in circulation or being banned? There is no denying, the healthiest solution remains the classic smoothing carried out at the hairdresser or at home with the good old brushing brush and the plates (more and more efficient).
