Launched
in September, True Colors Paris is a new multi-ethnic range created by Fatou
Sarr (a former sales director of Fashion Fair and consultant for various brands
and cosmetics brands). Like all those who embark on the creation of a range of
make-up for black, mat and mixed skin,
Fatou Sarr is part of the observation that few brands meet the specific and
specific needs of mat to dark skin * . She therefore decided to put her experience
and expertise in the development of a qualitative range, adapted, distinguished
but accessible.
What is special
about True Colors Paris?
Fatou Sarr
explains it very well herself: "The dyed beauty products are without fatty
substance, without added perfumes and contain sun protection. Finally, the
purity of the pigments in the composition of the eyeshadows and blushes is a
real added value. is luminous on all skin types. The brand is therefore
intended for all Beauties. With it, the segmentation of shopping according to
skin color disappears. This is also the philosophy of TRUE COLORS Paris .
" Finally, the textures of the products are light and non-comedogenic .
The active ingredients present such as chamomile , Aloe vera and panthenol
moisturize and protect the skin while sublimating its true nature.
Let's
start with the complexion , a key element of makeup, which can often turn out
to be a huge source of disappointment (isn't it?). I had the advantage of
testing the VIP fluid foundation (adapted to the nature of my skin and my wish
for natural makeup) and the Secret Touch compact powder . I would like to
emphasize that, thanks to the low content of titanium dioxide and a subtle
balance between yellow and red pigments, True Colors foundations and powders are
suitable for all skin tones , whether they are in tone beige, golden, honey,
caramel, chocolate or ebony *!
The VIP
fluid foundation (available in 8 shades ) is unique. First by its appearance
and its ingenuity. It is a foundation with integrated brush (it is the first
time that I see this kind of system). To collect the desired amount of
foundation, just gently press the push button located at the other end of the
brush. The long and rounded shape as well as the packaging of an intense purple
(spearhead of the range), are, moreover, absolutely chic. However, the opacity
of the color of the packaging means that we do not know where we are as to the
quantity of product remaining.
My impressions.
The fluid
foundation is light ( non-greasy ) and can be applied without any difficulty on
the face (we start from the inside to the outside). Despite the fine texture,
the coverage is perfect and very natural. I don't have the feeling of having
foundation, we don't feel it. FYI, the fluid foundation is full of moisturizing
and protective active ingredients such as Aloe vera , vitamin E and chamomile .
The skin is therefore not dried out or dehydrated, it breathes. And I love it!
I use the
brush to deposit the foundation points on my face but, for the application to
be more precise, I do it with my fingers. In my opinion, the brush is not
suitable for this purpose.
The Secret
Touch compact powder with integrated mirror (available in 6 shades ) refines
the application and enhances the complexion. With an aerial and fine texture,
it is rich in vitamin E and nylon particles .
My impressions.
There are
2 ways to apply the Secret Touch compact powder for results that are not
diametrically opposed but different: either use the powder puff (supplied with
the powder) for a tailor-made covering finish, or use a brush for a finished
natural. In all cases, my complexion is unified and matifiedbut, with the small
tassel, the coverage is total and gives a more sought-after appearance.
To be
completely complete, know that True Colors offers Perfect Skin powder
foundations , the ideal partner for combination and oily skin that lacks
unification and brightness. Even better, the brand's No Shine mattifying gel is
one of their flagship beauty products. It has been specially formulated to absorb
excess sebum, smooth the grain of the skin and make the complexion radiant. In
addition, it does not contain silicone but, mineral active ingredients which
make it possible to permanently fix makeup *.
FINAL VERDICT .
I
appreciate the elegance of True Colors packaging and in particular, its
practicality, namely: the mirror, the brush or the powder puff which are
included. On the other hand, these beauty products take up little space in my bag. The
complexion is highlighted with naturalness and sophistication for the day (I do
from time to time two to three small touch-ups on the T zone) . The textures
are fine, easy to work with, and do not clog pores. It is always the same, one
can object that the prices are high compared to the capacity. However, in addition
to paying for the quality of the products (selective ingredients), we pay for
the beautiful packaging and its extras (accessories) which are far from
negligible. And then, with True Colors , we enter high-end makeup!
